Day 1 : Arrival At Kolkata

Welcome on arrival in Kolkata by Singapore Airlines and transfer to the hotel. Kolkata is the city of joy, contrast, and culture. Once the capital of British India – now the capital of West Bengal. A visit to kolkata will bring visitors in touch with a combination of a rich 400 years old heritage, vibrant modern life, and different cultures.

Day 2 : Kolkata Experience

The morning after breakfast start exploring the city of joy with an introduction to the glory of Bengal, visit the flower market – a unique wholesale market of flowers which is situated on the bank of the river Ganges near the famous Howrah Bridge and riverside. Explore st. Paul’s cathedral, the first ‘episcopal cathedral church’ in an oriental country followed by the victoria memorial also referred to as the taj of the raj. This splendid white marble structure was built in memory of queen victoria between 1906 and 1921 and was formally inaugurated by the prince of wales, who later became King Edward vii of England. Take a bike from the victoria and set out to explore the heritage buildings around Dalhousie square.

After lunch visits the famous kali ghat kali temple – one of the 52 shakti peethas in India. In between, you might also enjoy a short tram ride in the crowded streets of kolkata. Your city experience will end at the motherhouse – the headquarters of the missionaries of charity. Later explore the college street book market by a hand-pulled rickshaw and enjoy a cup of hot coffee at the famous “Indian coffee house” which is running since 1942.

Day 3 : Kolkata - Bagdogra - Darjeeling

The morning after an early breakfast transfer to NSCB Airport to board connecting flight to Bagdogra. Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra & transfer to Darjeeling (95Kms/3Hrs). Check-in at Hotel. Overnight at Darjeeling.

Darjeeling is a land of infinite variety and charm. Dorje, the mystic thunderbolt of the Lama Religion was the origin of the name Darjeeling, which was first discovered by a British Captain Lloyd in the year 1829. Surrounded by Tea gardens; this little town faces some of the highest peaks of the Himalayas and used to be the summer retreat of the European Officers in Bengal. Evening free for individual activity and leisure, overnight at Hotel.

Day 4 : Darjeeling Sightseeing

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a half-day of local sightseeing covering Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday) established on August 14, 1958. It specializes in breeding animals adapted to alpine conditions. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) was founded in Darjeeling on4th November by Pandit
Nehru said that “The institute trains young men not only to climb Himalayan peaks but also create in them an urge to climb peaks of human Endeavour.” HMI has the oldest mountaineering Museum in other countries established in 1957.

Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (Closed on Sunday) was established on 1 October 1959, following the dramatic escape of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, thousands of Tibetans leaving their hearth and homes, fled to the neneighboringountries to live as free human beings. The production of Tibetan handicrafts is the center’s main activity. Evening enjoys a short walk across the Mall and Local Market (Closed on Thursday). Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 : Darjeeling Gangtok

Early morning start for Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga (Worlds 3rd highest peak), Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop War Memorial while returning to the Hotel. Breakfast at the hotel followed by transfer to Gangtok (105Kms/4Hrs).

The capital of the state of Sikkim is a beautiful and clean town promising the best monasteries and landscapes. Evening walks around the city to appreciate the new culture you are in. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : Gangtok Sightseeing

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Roomtek Monastery (24Kms) one of the largest Monastery in Eastern Himalayas. It was constructed by His Holiness in the late 16th Gyalwa Karmapa in 1960. It is the main seat of the Karma Kagyu lineage in Sikkim, “The Dharmachakra Centre, a place of erudition and spiritual accomplishment, the seat of the glorious Karmapa.” A Golden Stupa contains the relics of the 16th Karmapa. Opposite that building is a college, Karma Shri Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies.

Further 10 Kilometers, visit the quaint ethnic Lepcha village of Rey Mindu nestled below the Fhambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary where traditional farming and its age-old cultural practicll continue. Enjoy a slow walk across the lush paddy fields and the village and re- dire-discover00 years old Traditional Lepcha houses along with the

Karma Karthen Namgayling Monastery and The Lyakhyang (Medicinal water pond). You might enjoy a traditional Lepcha Dance by the local artists followed by a traditional lunch. (Optional). Later visit the Chorten or Stupa built by the venerable Truslshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1945. Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday) established in 1958 it is a treasure trove of a vast collection of rare Lepcha, Tibetan, and Sanskrit manuscripts, statues, and rare Thankas and has over 200 Buddhist icons. Institute of Handicrafts and handlooms (Closed on Sunday) while returning to the hotel, overnight.

Day 7 : Gangtok Sightseeing (Tsomgo Lake) & Transfer To Siliguri

Breakfast at the hotel followed by a half-day Jeep Safari to Tsomgo lake (12400ft), which is only 32kms from Gangtok City, the lake is almost about 1Km long, oval, and 15Mt deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people. Visit Enchay monastery while returning to the hotel. The ancient Monastery is almost 200 years old and was built by Lama Druptob Karpo. Afternoon transfer to Siliguri (115Kms/4Hrs), overnight at Hotel.

Day 8 : Bagdogra - Paro – Thimphu

Themorningg after breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport to board connecting flight to Paro. Welcome on arrival at Paro & after completion of immigration facilities transfer to Thimphu (176kms / 6Hrs). Thimphu is located at an altitude of 2248 Mts). Evening free for individual activity and leisure. Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 9 : Thimphu Sightseeing

The morning after breakfast proceeds to visit the Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) and visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the king, and the monastery Pangri Zampa, where monks study lamaism and astrology. Later we have the opportunity to observe the Takin antelope, the national animal of Bhutan, in a park. In the evening be part of a cooking demonstration. Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 10 : Thimphu – Punakha

Morning after breakfast transfer to Punakha (85 km / 4hrs).On the way stop at Dochula View Point (10,000Ft) – this is one of the highest points in this region and offers a breathtaking view of the area around. Punakha was the capital of Bhutan and the seat of government until 1955, when the capital was moved to Thimphu. Later proceed for sightseeing covering PPunakhaDzong, – Historically this dzong is the second oldest in Bhutan and it has witnessed the coronation ceremonies of many kings apart from serving as the Government seat and capital in 1950; Galem’s House; The Punakha Suspension Bridge – the second largest suspension bridge in Bhutan. Evening free at Punakha. Overnight at Punakha.

Day 11 : Punakha – Paro

The morning after breakfast drive to Paro (127Kms / 3.5hrs) (7,483 ft.). On the way halt at Lamperi to visit the Royal Botanical Park – The park contains a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna and features a huge species of plants. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon visit Ta Dzong – National Museum with an excellent collection of arts, relics, religious thangkha, etc. Rinpung Dzong – Meaning “fortress of the heap of jewels”. The dzong now serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro. Overnight at Paro.

Day 12 : Tiger Nest Monastery

The morning after breakfast visits the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong. A highlight of our trip is certainly the visit to the Taktsang Monastery, the “Tiger nest” sticking to a rock face. The vantage point on the other side of the narrow gorge is reached in about a 3-hour steep walk. . It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava arrived at this place on the back of a tigress to subdue the demons. Later transfer back to City Hotel. Overnight at Paro.

Day 13 : Day Excursion Trip To Haa Valley & Chele La

After breakfast set out to visit Haa valley – one of the most picturesque places in the Kingdom, spread over an area of 1706 sq. km. Also, visit Chele La pass. Located at 3810m (13,000ft), between the valley of Paro and Haa is Chele La, the highest road pass in the country. Evening at leisure in Paro. Overnight in Paro.

Day 14 : Paro – Dhaka

The morning after breakfast transfer to Paro Airport to board connecting flight to Dhaka. Welcome on arrival at Dhaka.

Dhaka is a more than 1500 years old city and became the capital of the country in 1608 under the Mughal rule. During ancient and medieval periods the city was known to the world for its unique product, the Muslin–the finest fabric ever produced in the world. As the capital of Bangladesh, it has grown into a bustling city of trade and commerce, cultural and sports activities, vibrating with full of life. The city has two parts–the old part and the new part. The old part is known as the Old Dhaka, which developed during the Mughal period. With the happy blending of the old and new architectural trends, traditions, and modernization, Dhaka has been expanding so fast since the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. At present, about 15 million people live in the city. The city of Dhaka has many facets which are seen through its architecture, people, and culture.

Later proceed for a horse-drawn carriage ride to Sadarghat River Front, located in the southern part of Dhaka, on the river Buriganga, it is one of the most dynamic places in Dhaka. Here, the Sadarghat Launch Terminal is one of the largest river ports in the world. About 200 large and small passenger launches (motorized boats) depart and arrive at the terminal every day. Also visit the Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace, closed on Thursdays) -Ahsan Manzil is one of the most significant architectural monuments of Bangladesh. It was built in 1872 in the style of Indo-Saracen Revival architecture on the bank of the river Buriganga. Also known as the Pink Palace for its color, the two-storied building stands on a raised platform of one meter. The lofty dome of the palace stands 27.13m above the ground. Once the residential palace of the Nawab of Dhaka, it now houses a splendid museum, which gives a good insight into the luxurious lifestyle of the past Nawabs of Dhaka.

Day 15 : Dhaka Sightseeing

The morning after breakfast proceeds for local sightseeing covering Lalbagh fort (Closed on Sundays)-It is an old Mughal fort in the southwestern part of Dhaka City. The construction of the fort was commenced in 1678 by a Mughal prince, Muhammad Azam. The fort, with its three gateways, is a combination of three buildings: the Diwan-i-Aam or Audience Hall with a HamamKhana or Turkish bath downstairs, the Tomb of Pari Bibi, and the mosque. The fort covers 18 acres of land. Later also visit the National Museum (Closed on Thursdays), The museum, located at Shahbag, started its journey in 1913. It has a very rich collection of a large number of sculptures, paintings, old coins, metal images, silver filigree, calligraphy, folk art, handicrafts, etc. of ancient and medieval periods. The museum is well organized and displays have been housed in several departments like the department of ethnography and decorative art, the department of history and classical art, the department of natural history, and the department of contemporary and world civilization), Dhakeswari Temple (Dhakeshwari National Temple is a famous Hindu temple in Dhaka first built in the 12th century, and later rebuilt and renovated numerous times. This state-owned temple is the
‘National Temple’. The name ‘Dhakeshwari’ means ‘Goddess of Dhaka’. Dhakeshwari Temple is the most important Hindu place of worship in Bangladesh). Lunch and dinner at a la local restaurant. Overnight ht at hotel in Dhaka.

Day 16 : Visit Sonargaon Aloa Ng With A Textile Tour Of Jamdani Village In Rupganj & Narshindi

The morning after breakfproceedsceed to Sonargaon to visit Panam Nagar at Sonargaon (Aboukm9 kms from Dhaka). Sonargaon was one of the oldest capitals of ancient Bangladesh. Dhaka was connected with the silk road by Uttarapath (North Road) constructed in the 3rd century BC. The road was refurbished in the 16th century AD and became known as The Grand Trunk Road which also connected Dhaka with Sonargaon. Sonargaon Folk Art Museum (Closed on Wednesdays & Thursdays) & Goaldi Mosque (The Goaldi Mosque is one of the very few surviving medieval monuments in the city of Sonargaon about ha half a mile northwest of the little township of PanamBuilt-inin 1519, the graceful, single-domed Goaldi Mosque is the most impressive of the few extant monuments of the old capital city, and a good example of pre-Mughal architecture). Later proceed to old Buddhist Ruins in Mainamati, Comilla.

Later proceed for a textile tour of Jamdani Village in Rupganj along with textile manual dying & printing in Narshindi. Be witness to the weaving process of the finest muslin textiles of Bengal as well as l gets a firsthand experience of the dying processes in place. The traditional art of weaving Jamdani has been declared by UNESCO as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”. Jamdani was originally known as “Dhakai”, named after the city of “Dhaka”, one of the many textile weaving centers of the Bengal region. Later under the Mughal rule, the Persian term “Jamdani” came to be used as the same was the court language of the Mughals. Transfer back to Dhaka.

Day 17 : Departure

The morning after departure transfer/transfer to Airport to board connecting the brighter the journey towards onward destination. Tour Ends.
